How to get there
TheSubculture is easy to get to by road or by public transport. There is a map showing location of TheSubculture, Leeds City Centre.
By road, from the East or North:
Head for Leeds via the A1 or M1, or the A64 or A63. Follow signs for 'City Centre' and approach the city via the A64. When you're approaching the city centre the A64 becomes an urban motorway (just after the traffic lights at the bottom of a dip) and starts to run beneath a series of bridges below the streets above. Bear left, and come off at the junction after the second overbridge, signed for the 'LGI' hospital. Follow the slip road up and round to the left, and the end of the slip road turn left and then follow the road down past a Morrisons supermarket. Keep left and turn left at the 'Oceana' nightclub onto the 'City Centre Loop'. You're now passing the front of The Merrion Centre. Take the next left and the venue's entrance is immedieatly on your left, just above the motorcycle parking. If you want to use the Merrion Centre secure multi-storey car park, keep going past the entrance to the Merrion Hotel and then take the next left, the entrance is half way down the back of the building on the left.
By road, from the South or West:
Head for Leeds via the M1 or M62. Follow the Leeds signs onto the M621, and then follow signs for 'City Centre', 'City Centre Loop' or 'Loop Road'. Keep following the signs till you get onto the City Centre Loop, and follow the loop round (it's one way, runs clockwise) until you find yourself climbing a hill with the 'Oceana' night club ahead on the left at the top of the hill. Go straight across the junction at Oceana. You're now passing the front of The Merrion Centre. Take the next left and the venue's entrance is immedieatly on your left, just above the motorcycle parking. If you want to use the Merrion Centre secure multi-storey car park, keep going past the entrance to the Merrion Hotel and then take the next left, the entrance is half way down the back of the building on the left.
By rail:
Take the train to Leeds, note there is a manned ticket barrier to exit the station. Once through the barriers walk straight ahead and through the glass doors to the taxi/bus area. Bear right and follow the road, it runs past the side of the station (you can see through a fence to the tracks) and then curves to the left. Keep following the street (ignore the steps on the right) and at the end, cross 'Boar Lane' and walk up the pedestrian street ahead, 'Albion Street'. Keep going up Albion Street past Virgin, straight on till you come to a wide road, 'The Headrow'. Cross The Headrow, keep going up past a McDonalds on the right. Ahead you'll see the 'Oceana' nightclub. Turn right at the junction, cross 'Merrion Street' at the pedestrian crossing. Once across go right, round the front of The Merrion Centre, and turn left into Wade Lane. The club entrance is on your left.
Times, Dates and Prices:
- We're open 8pm - Midnight, on the 2nd Wednesday of each month.
- Entry costs £3.00.
- Dates confirmed for Summer 2007 are June 13th, July 11th, and August 8th.
